Adelaide

Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, is a well-planned, elegant city located close to the coast and surrounded by beautiful parklands. The city sits on the River Torrens and is renowned for its beaches, gardens, churches and stately Victorian architecture.

Adelaide is a wonderful cultural centre, with world class art galleries and museums. It is known for its proximity to several internationally renowned wine districts, its fine fresh cuisine including seafood, its heritage of local ‘bluestone’ buildings and its many music, food and wine festivals, including the widely celebrated biennial Adelaide Festival of Arts and annual Fringe festival.

The weather in mid-September can be highly variable. Late winter and squally conditions are possible, or clear spring days, or even an early burst of summer weather and 30C temperatures – so visitors are advised to be prepared for changeable conditions.
